FEI EAP affiliates provide counseling sessions to employees or covered family members of an FEI contracted company. EAP sessions include assessment, short-term problem resolution and referral as necessary. Affiliates must demonstrate broad understanding of EAP practice, alcohol and other drug problems, mental health issues, human resource and labor relations issues and organizational dynamics. All EAP affiliates must be master’s-level or above mental health professionals licensed to practice independently and have at least one (1) year of EAP experience. EAP affiliates also must be willing to accept referrals for individuals, couples, families and children ages 5 and older.

FEI trauma specialists provide on-site critical incident stress debriefing (CISD) services for FEI contracted companies. Depending on the request and incident, response can include providing group debriefing, one-on-one support for employees and/or management consultation. All FEI trauma specialists must be master’s-level or above mental health professionals licensed to practice independently and have formal CISD training, certification or equivalent experience.

FEI trainers facilitate on-site workplace trainings for FEI contracted companies. Trainings cover a wide range of both workplace and work-life topics, emphasizing organizational and employee resiliency. Presentations and training materials are provided by FEI. All FEI trainers must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and extensive experience facilitating workplace trainings/seminars.

Family Assistance Representative (FAR)
FARs provide direct services and logistical support on-site to survivors, survivor families and victim families affected by a mass casualty event. The support is basic psychological first aid and includes providing information, making travel and lodging arrangements and lending emotional support. This work is supportive rather than clinical in nature and usually scheduled in 12-hour shifts. All FEI FARs must be a master’s-level or above health professional with at least two (2) years post master’s experience, have a state license in their discipline and complete FEI’s Crisis Responder Training.

Crisis Support Coordinator (CSC)
CSCs provide support, crisis intervention, group and organizational consultation for FEI customers during a crisis activation. Activations are long-term, and response is scheduled in 12-hour shifts. All FEI CSCs must be a master’s-level or above behavioral health professional, hold a state license or certificate in a behavioral health discipline and complete FEI’s Crisis Responder Training. A CSC must also be trained and/or have experience in conducting individual and group debriefings following catastrophic events.

Family Information Counselor (FIC)
FICs support the emergency inquiry line during a crisis, provide critical first contact to families and individuals impacted by a disaster, provide basic psychological first aid to callers, provide accurate documentation of callers’ information and identifying needs and provide identified resources and updates. Remote response from a home office is available through our Virtual Contact Center (VCC). All FEI FICs must be a master’s-level or above behavioral health professional or an experienced health professional in nursing or related health profession with a state license. FEI VCC Training is required for remote option.
