Sept. 6, 2016, Milwaukee, Wis. — FEI Behavioral Health, a social enterprise with a 35-year history and a leader in workforce resilience from crisis management to EAP, will present sessions addressing cyber-terrorism at two upcoming conferences, the (ISC)2 Annual Security Congress and the Disaster Recovery Journal Fall World Conference.

The (ISC)2 Annual Security Congress runs Sept. 12-15 and is co-located with the ASIS International 2016 Seminar in Orlando. FEI’s Senior Director Terri Howard will present an informative session, “Preparing for the Worst: Cyber Terrorism and the Human Impact,” on Sept. 12, 11 a.m. EST.

The Disaster Recovery Journal Fall World Conference runs Sept. 18-21 in Phoenix, where Howard also will present the “Preparing for the Worst” session on Sept. 20, 1:30 p.m. MST.

These sessions will outline a detailed response plan for organizations to address both the organizational and the personal impact of cyber-attacks during the days, weeks and months that follow. Participants will learn the deep personal impact a cyber-attack has on its victims and specific services that should be provided to employees as a result. Attendees also will learn how to develop best practice crisis plans for responding to the needs of employees, including how to effectively communicate operational information and organizational needs post-incident.

Howard is responsible for working with FEI corporate clients to ensure they are prepared for, can respond to and recover from a crisis incident. She also coordinates the people support and psychological first aid services for those impacted by crises, and she is responsible for developing drills and exercises aimed at testing current plans and procedures. Over the years, Howard has contributed to several international standards and guidelines on crisis management and workplace violence prevention, including ASIS, a global community of more than 38,000 security practitioners, and the FBI.
