Building resilience in residential center staff through peer support

FEI will present at the upcoming Association of Children’s Residential Centers (ACRC) 63rd Annual Conference.

The conference will run April 23-26 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans, La. FEI Business Solutions Engineer Raquelle Solon will present a poster during the President’s Welcome Reception and Poster Presentation Session on April 23 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. CST.

The poster topic, “Care from Inside the Trenches: Establishing Peer Support Service,” will discuss how organizations can create a peer support program that formalizes the internal need for support in high-stress residential work environments.

From addressing compassion fatigue to coping with vicarious trauma, attendees will learn how peer support practices enable their organizations to provide an empathetic outlet for staff as well as develop a program unique to their organizational needs via employee engagement and partnership with employee assistance programs.
