FEI’s Vivian Marinelli will present sessions at Campus Safety Magazine’s 2018 Campus Safety Conferences throughout the summer; the first is June 24-26 in Irving, Texas. Randy Kratz will present at the upcoming International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) Annual Conference in Orlando, Fla., June 29 – July 2.

At each Campus Safety conference, Marinelli will examine how universities can prepare for protests during large campus events. At the IACLEA conference, Kratz will discuss opiate addiction and its impact on college campuses.

Join FEI’s Terri Howard and Vivian Marinelli as they present at two upcoming events: The Region IV Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association Inc.’s 2018 Safety & Health Excellence Conference (June 19-21 in Biloxi, Miss.), and the Business Resiliency Professionals of Wisconsin and Southeast Wisconsin Homeland Security Partnership’s 2018 Resiliency Services Showcase (June 21 in Menomonee Falls, Wis.).

Howard will present sessions on workplace bullying and the importance of respectful communications, while Marinelli will speak on helping the helpers when strengthening responder resilience before, during and after a crisis.

FEI has joined long-time partner Ken Dolan-Del Vecchio, author and founder of GreenGate Leadership, for the upcoming online radio talk show Work Life Confidential. Premiering June 18, 2018 at 3 p.m. CST on VoiceAmerica Talk Radio Network, each weekly episode will discuss vital—and sometimes uncomfortable—personal and workplace topics.

FEI experts will join Dolan-Del Vecchio as guest speakers, and FEI will serve as the show’s premier sponsor.

As part of its year-long Igniting the Potential: The Health and Human Services Workforce initiative, the American Public Human Services Association’s Policy & Practice Magazine has published FEI’s “Move to the Front: A Strategy for Becoming a Stronger Self.”

Move to the Front, a framework based on how our brains influence our reactions, seeks to help employees overcome adverse experiences, prioritize happiness and ultimately guide them to their best selves.

In Risk Management Magazine article “Helping the Helpers: Supporting the Resilience of First Responders,” FEI Senior Director of Crisis Management Services Vivian Marinelli outlines best practices for recognizing stress and developing resilience in the field of emergency response.

2017 proved a volatile year in natural disasters. In the May issue of Occupational Health & Safety, FEI Crisis Management Operations Specialist Carol Hill discusses how businesses can prepare for natural disasters by having strong disaster recovery, crisis communications and aftermath recovery plans supported by regular training and drills.

FEI Business Solutions Engineer Raquelle Solon will discuss how implementing a trauma-informed approach to behavior intervention leads to healthy, respectful relationships among both
clients and staff for the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Division of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities’ 2018 Developmental Disabilities Learning Collaborative.

Solon’s plenary engagement, “A Trauma-Informed Approach to Behavior Intervention,” will take place on May 2. The DD Learning Collaborative runs May 2-4 in Augusta, Ga.

On April 27, Senior Account Manager Randy Kratz will give a keynote address on critical incident stress management and its relationship to disaster response at the Wisconsin Chapter Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) 2018 Conference.

Howard will present “Workplace Violence Prevention: Strategies to Address Employee Safety and Reduce Damaging Litigation” for the Safety Summit on April 18 in Orlando, Fla., while Solon will discuss “Secondary Trauma and Resilience for Front Line Staff” at the COO Roundtable in Indianapolis, Ind., on April 20.

Vivian Marinelli, FEI’s senior director of crisis management services, is among those interviewed for “The Cybersecurity Challenge,” an article addressing how organizations can protect themselves against digital attacks for Association Conventions and Facilities Magazine.

Marinelli joins other cybersecurity experts to evaluate safety precautions when combating hackers, the threat of ransomware and the pitfalls of free Wi-Fi.
